The Land of Living Skies!!

They call this province "The Land of Living Skies", here is a dose of just that!!

province

I LOVE my roan horses!!

I do not know if ALL roan horses do this, but Mine DO!!!!!!!!

When they are changing their coats ( winter to spring etc), my roan horses all turn white first!!

take a look at these pics, top one from Feb 11 / 09, the one below from March 3 / 09

Anyone else ever had this??????????

The Church at Tong, both old & new

This is a photo of the church at Tong, Shropshire,England. The current one is on the left of the picture, whilst the pile of stones on the right is the remains of the original one, that is mentioned in the "Doomsday Book", just though you might be interested.

Sad News

Some sad news to share with you all, my blue mare, Goblin, had a spotaneous abortion of a set of twins on Feb 21, one of them had died a while back, and put an end to both of them, she is doing well, I gave her a shot of Oxytocin to make sure everything was cleaned out, as well as a shot of long acting Penicillin to make sure of no infection. Guess we will just have to try again this spring.

On the Seventh Day: my home church, in England

St Nicolas Church, Codsall, England

Sunday Stills: MOON

How about this for a prairie moon???

When only the BEST will do!!!

This morning, when I went to check the mares pasture, this is what I came across!!

One of the hoops in the tombstone feeder is broken and Chick had decided to help herself to the nice bits in the middle, nothing abnormal, I have seen her do this before, something her sire would have done in a NY moment!!!

What??

I guess the best part of the bale is the middle???

And another day begins......

What a difference a Year makes!!

This was Charley ( Doubled up n Blue) in the summer of '08, as a yearling, scrawny looking thing!
And this is Charley now, taken today, not looking too bad now!!
Still got a ways to go, but at least he is going in the right direction, he is going to be a big boy!!

Do I have a fat baby belly?? YES, YES I DO!!

This would be Rolyn Angel, one of my APHA broodmares, ( and the pasture pest) and NO she is not really fat, she is in foal to my Blue roan Stallion, Blue Shadow Jets!

This will be her third baby, the last two have both been painted, and both by QH studs!

Lets try the Picture Meme again!

Ok Shirley, I tried this 'Meme' thing again, and it came up with a different picture this time!!

How about a VERY PATHETIC looking Jess??? ( almost reminds me of yours!!LOL)

Sunshine Siesta

A couple of the '08 colts having a sunny siesta after doing some heavy duty munching on hay!

What a difference a day makes!!

We have all been under a "freezing rain" warning all last night, but all we got was this wonderful frost on everything. Took the pictures in black n' white for a different effect!!

A sunny day to play outside!!

What an absolutely beautiful sunny day to be outside, the dogs where having a great time, playing 'Tag'

Picture Meme

Shirley over at "Ride a good horse", tagged me in a picture meme, "go to the fourth folder, and take the fourth picture", and here it is!!!

SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!!

'Feed me!!"

This is the scene that I came across yesterday morning when I went out to feed my colts, poor Charley, ( Doubled Up n Blu) my 2 year old blue roan colt by Shadow, figured he was not being fed to his standards and had to go look for his own feed!!! Dont you feel sorry for him?? NOT

'Chick'

This would be another of my 3 year old fillies, this is "Chick", she is, unfortunately, an orphan, and was a bottle baby. Seems to be filling out nicely though!!

Chick's dam passed from this world, approx 12 hours after foaling, and , if that was not enough of a loss, I also lost her sire, my buddy, only 3 weeks later, so we have a little bit of a soft spot for this girl. Her reg. name is: SNOOP N TWIGS LEGACY.

Theres somethin under that snow!!

Roxie apparently thinks there is
something under neath that snow, and she is going to find out WHAT!!!!

On the Seventh Day: Home is where the heart is

A grown up 'Turd'

And this would be one of my 3 year olds, "Beaus Dun Biddn" AKA "Turd", she is starting to fill out into a nice big mare!!!
